We were asked to look at a very poorly Heidelberg Cylinder SB.
Unfortunately from time to time this can happen if any implements
are left on the type bed. The unsupported rear edge of the cylinder
cracks and pushes out as in the picture. We removed the
cylinder and fully rebuilt the impression cylinder face back to
the exact specifications and checked the cylinder journals for
concentric. We re-fitted the impression cylinder back into the
machine, carried out a service and put the Heidelberg Cylinder SB
back into production.
